Are you looking for a perfect, sweet, obedient little snuggle bug all wrapped up in a perfect mini package? Then DOC just might be the perfect fit! No more than 30 pounds or so, 2-year-old DOC is just about the sweetest, happiest little boy we've ever met. Along with those stunning blue eyes, DOC has a perfect tri-color rough coat that he just loves having us run our fingers through. With that beautiful coat, it's a good thing that he loves being brushed, and when he's all nice and groomed, he looks like he just stepped into the show ring!

Desperate to please his people, DOC has proven to be an obedient little boy when he must be, but as soon as he's invited onto the couch, it's all wiggly butt wags and a big doggie smile as he rolls over for belly scratches. While DOC would much rather be curled up next to his person on the couch or bed, he's also very obedient when asked to lay down quietly on the floor, although he's never more than a few feet away. When his foster mom gets up to go do something, you can bet that DOC will be right on her heels. He is happiest when he is with his people, and as such, will do best with a family that is home more often then not.

DOC is housebroken and crate trained for eating and sleeping, and settles down quietly in his crate when we have to leave for a few hours. He lives in a foster home with three kitties, so a home with cats shouldn't be a problem, although we don't leave him loose in the house unsupervised with them, just to be overly cautious.

Somewhere along the way, DOC has had basic obedience training, he has a ready sit and lay down, and a good local recall. DOC will be a pleasure to train; he is very treat oriented and praise oriented as well. He just wants to make you happy and hear the words "GOOD BOY!!" DOC absolutely loves a good game of fetch, and has boundless energy for it, and will bring back a ball as many times as you can throw it. He needs ample games and walks and runs daily, which is why we are seeking an active, spacious home for him. DOC likes toys, but not to the point that he will chew them, he just likes to pack a stuffed animal around and try to entice someone to play with him. Right now his favorite is his plush ducky.

DOC loves his people, adults and children alike. He will alarm bark when strangers approach though, but once he realizes they are friends he will greet them with that butt wiggle and a big smile. He also gets along great with his doggie foster siblings, engaging in play with the ones that will play with him, and would love to have a playful companion in his new home.  We think Doc would do best in a rural type home similar to where he is currently fostered, with plenty of room to play fetch and follow his owners around for chore time, and will be screening applicants accordingly.

DOC is micro-chipped, neutered, heart worm negative and on preventative, and up to date on vaccinations. DOC is being fostered in Colusa in Colusa County, California.
