FYVIE is a 4-month-old medium-coated pup from cattle-working parents. This little boy has a “can do” attitude about learning & “work” & the energy to go with it, traits he undoubtedly gets from his hardworking parents. His father is a rough-coated fellow with prick ears; his mother is a smooth coat with tip ears & medium-length tail. FYVIE has inherited his mother's tip ears & partial tail & his father's coat. He has solid bone, a lovely structure, & a winning personality.

FYVIE is a delightful, happy, friendly pup, who loves learning new things. He learns quickly & is both treat & toy-motivated; he has excellent eye contact & can hold his focus. He is a very confident pup socially & in trying new things. He gets along well with the other dogs in his foster home, but he can be a pest to the older ones. That said, he listens with they tell him to find something else to do. He can be redirected by his humans, using toys & treats, or by giving him something purposeful to do. And he does need things to do, or he will look for things to do! He is a typical puppy, but border collie typical: busy! Because of FYVIE's need for directed play/work & his drive, he would do best in a home where he will have some kind of job--maybe even agility, flyball, or herding, with someone who has training experience, especially with border collies. Walks once or twice a day & playing fetch with a ball would be like warm-ups for this keen puppy.  FYVIE is working on crate-training & is close to 100% housebroken. He is learning to sit for everything he wants. A smart little fellow, he is a blast to train.

FYVIE is started on his puppy vaccines, wormed, and microchipped. As a condition of puppy adoption, he will need to be altered by his new owner when he reaches approximately 6 months (specific time to be determined by your vet). In addition to the adoption fee, puppy adoption requires a $100 spay/neuter deposit. Upon our receiving the spay/neuter certificate from you, the deposit is refunded.
