Introducing beautiful, lovable GRACIE, an approximately 14 months old female red-tri merle rough coat border collie.  She is 38 pounds and about 16 inches at the shoulders and should not get much bigger. GRACIE came to rescue when her human became ill and was unable to continue to care for her and needless to say, she was cherished and nourished, and is ready to give her love to a lucky new home.

GRACIE is completely housebroken but still needs regular visits outside to ensure success in a new environment. We would classify her as a high energy BC that is always ready to chase a ball or play keep away with her foster sisters, or whatever is next on the agenda. We feel that GRACIE would be best suited in an active environment, with a canine pal if possible, or near constant human companionship if not. Although she has not had much formal training thus far, she is amazingly well-behaved and endears herself to everyone she meets.  She thoroughly enjoys running, exploring, playing with her foster sisters, and poking through the toy basket for her next toy.

GRACIE  is incredibly easy to train, and naturally motivated to please. Although praise seems to be reward enough, she loves to get treats if you’re handing them out. She would be a dream come true for all those experienced trainers who have had their share of “tricky” students and would like an easier time of it for a change, or for the novice trainer who could benefit from a super smart, intuitive student that learns along the way with her human. GRACIE is extremely athletic. We expect she would be a rock star in agility or other similarly challenging activity.

GRACIE has shown a strong preference for sleeping in a dog bed for nighttime sleep (as opposed to being in a crate) and stays completely calm throughout the night without needing to go outside. She has not shown any tendencies to be a destructive chewer, however would do well if she has access to toys to keep her occupied while her humans are doing other things. She behaves perfectly riding in the car and enjoys discovering new things and new friends all day long. GRACIE is a clever, polite lover dog and she’s going to make some fortunate family very happy she came along.

GRACIE is micro-chipped, spayed, heart worm negative and on preventative, and up to date on vaccinations.
