Meet our charming ISABELLA. She is a one year old, petite, 32 lb., Border Collie mix with a very soft, smooth coat. ISABELLA has beautiful black & white markings and the sweetest face you’ll meet. ISABELLA enjoys going for car rides, especially when they involve trips to the lake. This girl is a first class sailor and swims like a natural. She is on the active side so she will require a household that will exercise her regularly. ISABELLA is very well socialized with other dogs. She has a submissive nature, typically licking the muzzle of new dogs. She loves to romp and roughhouse with all her foster siblings and after a good play session relaxes with a chew toy in the house. In the evening she settles very nicely, either retreating to a doggie pillow or if okay with you, she’ll gladly join you for a cuddle on the sofa.

ISABELLA has been an excellent house guest. She is housebroken, letting you know when she needs to go out, using the doggie door like a champ. ISABELLA is crate trained for resting, eating and sleeping at night. We don’t believe she has had any obedience or leash training, but she is super smart and has a strong desire to please so she learns very quickly. All you need is patience and a calm approach. She may take a little time to settle in and be at ease in her new home as she is apt to be a little stand-offish for the first few days. She may require encouragement to come in through the front door for example. But she’ll soon learn the ropes of her new home and seek affection and gleefully participate in activities. So while she may start off shy, once she gets to know you she will be one, full-on love bug.

ISABELLA would be happiest in a home with one or more active siblings, though she could also do well as an only dog so long as she gets lots of affection, exercise and attention. She was a bit cat curious at her first rescue home so a home without cats or at least dog savvy cats may be in order.  If you think you can provide ISABELLA with a home and activities to make her the best dog she can be, ISABELLA would love to meet and discuss your future together.

ISABELLA is micro-chipped, spayed, heart worm negative and on preventative, and up to date on vaccinations.
