LOVETTE is a big bundle of affection! She has so much love to give her body can barely contain it! We believe she is about 2 years old, with a lovely thick red coat and soulful amber eyes. She is a big girl approximately 60 lbs., though she is aware of her size and tries very hard to control herself. Once she is by your side, she is a gentle lover that basks in your approval. She quite literally freezes to receive any and all affection! After a brief welcome period she is content to curl up and chew on her toys on a bed by your feet. LOVETTE requires regular exercise and she makes it easy by walking nicely on lead. She makes an EXCELLENT running partner, happy to trot alongside and take in the sights.
LOVETTE knows basic commands such as sit, lay down, off, and stay, though she can be a little slow to respond sometimes! She is just so excited to be near you that sometimes those simple requests seem completely unreasonable to her! Thus, she would benefit from a few obedience classes to fine tune her skills. Training classes are also an excellent way for you and her to bond. LOVETTE is both food and praise motivated, and completely trainable. She is very smart, and adaptable to routines.
LOVETTE is learning to sleep quietly in her crate through the night and when we are away from home for a bit. She is housebroken and learning house manners every day. There are no cats or small children in her foster home, but she can get very easily excited when there is something to chase. Though perhaps a little shy at the outset, she does quite well when meeting people for the first time. LOVETTE is pretty easy going with the other dogs in the home and quickly responds to backing off if the play gets a bit over the top. Her foster mom feels that although LOVETTE gets along with other dogs, she would do best in a home with another low key companion or at least with someone experienced in handling multiple dogs; someone who knows how to manage pack space and activities.
All in all, LOVETTE is sweet girl looking for that someone special to call her own.
LOVETTE is micro-chipped, spayed, heart worm negative and on preventative, and up to date on vaccinations.
