Please give a warm, snuggly welcome to LUKE! This two year old boy is a beautiful rough coat, tri-color male border collie. He is quite affectionate, though a bit on the shy side. LUKE is a busy boy at his foster home, curious and exploring about the property, but in the evening in the house can often be found curled up close to foster mom or dad. LUKE has been an outstanding guest at his foster home. He has not been a barker, a digger, nor a chewer of inappropriate items; he has only chewed on kongs and deer antlers provided him. LUKE also crates quietly overnight and is housebroken. He's a bit cat curious, and will give chase to resident PuckleCat, but our Puckle is quite dog savvy and chooses not to run. Along these lines, LUKE was accused of chicken killing and surrendered to rescue because his instincts got the better of him. A home with dog savvy (or no) cats and no chickens looks to be in order!

LUKE knows "sit" and "shake" and smart boy that he is, will most likely prove to be an apt pupil for other commands. He sometimes gets a bit “grumphy” with a couple of his foster brothers, but readily stops when called. He exhibited this behavior when he first came into rescue at a different foster home so we are on the fence whether he should be placed into a home with other dogs. He hasn’t scrapped with any of his pack mates, past or present, and the other dogs generally ignore his utterances and he’s only displayed this behavior with males. It may well be pack posturing or perhaps a gap in confidence upon entering a new pack, but if not the only dog, then being placed with females may be the best approach.

LUKE is a lovely boy who will become an active buddy to whomever adopts him. He will benefit from your love and guidance to become the best dog he can be! LUKE'S rucksack is packed and he's ready to find his forever home.

LUKE is micro-chipped, neutered, heart worm negative and on preventative, and up to date on vaccinations.
