Maya • Female • 6 years

MAYA is a darling 6-year-old border collie/Australian cattle dog mix. Like her border collie ancestors, she bonds strongly with her humans, loving to snuggle up, follow you everywhere, & roll on her back for a belly rub. Like her ACD ancestors, she loves to chase a toy (& probably any small, moving creature like a cat) & do silly butt tucks around the yard. She has a stocky body & when she jumps, it's with all four feet in the air!  Did we mention adorable?

MAYA loves people & she has learned to be respectful of the other animals in her foster home with the exception of a bossy female border collie. Sometimes she will look at another dog with an overly keen eye or even posture, but a quick "that'll do" or "leave it" puts a stop to any temptation. So, MAYA would probably do best in a home with a male dog or a home in which she gets to be the only dog.

MAYA has learned to walk on a Martingale collar/leash. She is crate-trained and has never had an accident in her foster home.  She loves to go on "puppaventures" in her foster mom's van. She will enjoy continuing to learn new things, & she is very treat-motivated.

MAYA is micro-chipped, spayed, heart worm negative and on preventative, and up to date on vaccinations. If you have an approved Northern California Border Collie Rescue & Adoptions Application and wish to enquire about MAYA please email us at Adoptions@norcalbcrescue.org. If you have an approved adoption application with Border Collie Rescue of Northern California let us know and we will request it be forwarded to us for consideration. MAYA is being fostered north of Sacramento.
