If you are looking for a pint size companion look no more! Meet PEGGY, a 30 lb, spayed female just under two years old. She may be small compared to her brother and sister border collies, but PEGGY is all heart! She is a happy girl, loves giving kisses and wants nothing more than please you. PEGGY is a smart little girl. She is alert and attentive and steps up to alarm you when intruders are near, then willing to resume what she was doing. PEGGY is crate trained and sleeps well through the night. PEGGY has not had one accident since she has been fostered. Establish her routine, show her the door, and PEGGY is more than willing to let you know when it’s time to go outside to do her business. PEGGY is happy to spend time in her little nest (crate) or cuddle next to you on the sofa. She loves to be stroked, paws played with, belly rubbed and ears scratched.  She does not mind a check of the teeth or ears occasionally.  PEGGY must have been taught basic commands in her prior home life, as she responds well to ‘sit’, ‘come’, ‘get down’, and ‘up’.  Whistle, and PEGGY will be right there.  We are working on her ‘stay’ and calling her by name. Praise her and PEGGY gives you a perky wag of the tail ready to repeat whatever she did right.

PEGGY is a bit finicky when it comes eating breakfast and dinner; she has been on a hamburger and dry puppy food while in foster care. PEGGY is just now learning to enjoy doggy biscuits.  Recently, she discovered peanut butter stuffed Kong’s are great to nibble on and deer antlers will keep her busy for hours. PEGGY does very well on the lead. She will walk gently beside you without tugging. PEGGY loves her morning walks, the new smells, the birds chirping, and the quite of the neighborhood. PEGGY is happy to rest under the shade on the lawn watch the birds prance on the yard or to roam the yard and explore. PEGGY does well by herself but is more than happy to join you on a moment’s notice or to play with other like-minded happy go lucky beta type dogs. PEGGY is slowly getting her herding drive back while playing with her current foster brother who is only two pound heavier than she is. It’s butts in the air and tails wagging to get each other’s attention or you’ll find them crouched down focused in that deep border collie stare across the yard, and off to the races they go. PEGGY has shown no desire to herd humans. High strung kids or strong alpha type dogs are not a good match for PEGGY if approached PEGGY will shy away or roll over. PEGGY is not quite sure about cats, but she knows squirrels like to run and she likes to chase after them as they run along the fence line. Give PEGGY the time to adjust to her new environment, have patience to let her to become accustomed to your lifestyle, with love and praise and space to grow, PEGGY will be your forever companion.

PEGGY is micro-chipped, spayed, heart worm negative and on preventative, and up to date on vaccinations.
