This handsome, very sweet Border Collie puppy is about 4-1/2 months old and is ready to meet his special person who will help him learn about life! ROWDY weighs about 30 lbs and has a short, easy to groom coat and classic BC markings. ROWDY is a typical rambunctious puppy that needs lots of training, supervision and daily exercise to be a happy member of your family. We thought ROWDY was thus an appropriate (albeit initial!) name, though he also does settle nicely indoors. He is very food and treat motivated and is at the perfect age to mold into the dog of your dreams! We are looking for that special person who has sufficient time, desire and patience to work with him and make him into the best boy he can be.
ROWDY was a blank slate when he first came into his foster home. So far, he has learned to sit, drop it and to be calm in the house. He “comes” very well when called and we are working on “stay”. We are also working on his potty training and has become very consistent at pottying on command if taken out on a regular schedule. He is also learning that a collar and leash means going on a fun adventure.
ROWDY has discovered that toys are fun to play with too. Sometimes he will fall asleep with a toy between his paws, Which is way cute beyond words! Once in his crate at bedtime, he sleeps quietly through the night, but when day dawns ROWDY is ready to greet the world again. We seek to place ROWDY in a home where he will be a part of the family, and not just a yard fixture. He likes other dogs that are friendly to him and wants to play with them. He is also crate trained and rides well in the car. All in all, ROWDY is a handsome, friendly and lovable little guy who has the potential to become a great family member. If you have the time, patience and experience with Border Collies, then ROWDY is ready to set up a meet and greet with you.
ROWDY is started on his puppy vaccines, wormed, and microchipped. As a condition of puppy adoption, he will need to be altered by his new owner when he reaches approximately 6 months (specific time to be determined by your vet). In addition to the adoption fee, puppy adoption requires a $100 spay/neuter deposit. Upon our receiving the spay/neuter certificate from you, the deposit is refunded.

ROWDY is being fostered in Nevada City in Nevada County, California.
