Available from Lake Tahoe Wolf Rescue. For more information on Sarah please contact Pamela at PamelaJoWolflady2@sbcglobal.net   THIS IS VERY URGENT - PLEASE HELP SARAH find her new home!

Sarah - not very big at about 45-50 lbs - is a gorgeous Husky girl in good health at 7+ years old, spayed, and best with calm male dogs. Sarah is very shy with new people and new things but was affectionate with her owner and now allows one of the staff to leash and pet her. Poor girl has had not been socialized much all these years and will pace at a new home until she settles in. She needs a patient and experienced owner that will spend time helping her to learn to trust. She has great possibilities with rehabilitation if we can find the right person. She lived with her sister Spirit - also shy - who we found a great home for and is doing well now that she has adjusted. Sarah had a Chihuahua friend she loved and played gently with him [see photo]. They also had a cat which she ignored. Sarah pulls on leash and tries to bolt when strangers come around because she gets very frightened, but in time she will settle down and be a loving companion. She is well behaved indoors and very sweet once she gets to know you but initially prefers to be in a large outdoor kennel where she feels safe. She walked nicely on a gentle leader with the owner and now walking on leash with staff at the boarding kennel. Unfortunately Sarah, her sister Spirit and the Chihuahua were never socialized because they lived in a kennel inside a small RV, so they are all extremely shy with new people and new things. Sarah likes to dig in the yard and play in a kiddie pool. Sarah is not left alone indoors unsupervised but is fine in her kennel when left home for short periods of time. She is a jumper so 6' fencing as well as dig guard is needed. Sarah is an escape risk until she bonds with her new owner. She has a little training and loves to ride in the car. Sarah would do best with an experienced woman in a home that has a nice calm male canine companion to teach her to trust ...  she would also be ok as an only dog getting a lot of love and attention. Please help us help this sweet girl. She is making progress every day at the boarding kennel but we can't afford to keep her there much longer.
