At about 2-years-old, SEAMUS is a calm, sensitive, fast-learning pleaser of a border collie/McNab. While initially timid, SEAMUS is very people-oriented, and quickly became devoted to and watchful of his foster humans. He is highly attuned to instructions and to the moods of people around him. It does not take much to direct or re-direct him, and he loves to learn new things. SEAMUS does not chew, and seldom barks or whines. He has good recall, is housebroken, crate-trained, rides well in a car, loves sleeping snuggled up to a person, other dog or both, and is always up for outdoor endeavors with his human family. SEAMUS walks politely on a leash, both alone and with other dogs. He has strong working instincts and might make a good herding or agility dog.
SEAMUS adores his border collie foster siblings, but he’s been snarky with our older Shiba Inu mix, and he needs reminding not to herd the other dogs on off-leash walks. He easily learned to ignore the chickens in his foster home. In his foster home, SEAMUS has been keen to check for possible escape routes from the backyard; that said, his attempts have been an effort to locate and be close to his people, not to go off adventuring by himself. SEAMUS should go to a physically active, border collie-savvy home that will return his devotion, give him daily intellectual stimulation and exercise, and who will welcome him to live in the house as part of the family.
SEAMUS is micro-chipped, neutered, heart worm negative and on preventative, and up to date on vaccinations.
