Meet WALLY! He is a gorgeous, classical rough coated border collie, whose striking black and white markings make him look like he just stepped out of a calendar! Once he bonds with his person, WALLY will only have eyes for you, and you won’t be able to help falling in love just as soon as you gaze into them. We estimate WALLY to be between 2 and 3 years old, so for the most part, he has outgrown his puppy stage. WALLY hasn’t chewed on anything he’s not supposed to, but as a fun loving youngster, he still has plenty of energy and will need abundant playtime and activity to prevent him from finding ways to entertain himself. While WALLY hasn’t had much exposure to toys yet, he does love running alongside his foster mom and playing in the yard, so there’s definitely the potential there to channel that fun energy into a dog sport of some kind. WALLY is both treat oriented and praise oriented, so he will really be fun to train!
WALLY bonds very closely to his person, making him a most endearing companion. WALLY gets along with most of the dogs in his foster home, but can be a bit protective of his person, so “meet and greets” with potential dog siblings will need to be supervised. While he gets along fine with most of the dogs in his foster home, WALLY is a bit to overzealous in his interest in the cats, so he would probably do best in a kitty-free zone. WALLY is doing very well with his crate training, and has not had any accidents in his foster home at all. He has become accustomed to a routine in his foster home: Last potty break of the night is around 9-10:00 pm, and then he sleeps quietly through the night til approximately 5:30 am when he hears his foster mom start shuffling her way to the coffee pot. After a nice morning potty break, WALLY is ready to come back inside to his crate where he knows breakfast awaits. WALLY loves his mealtimes! While foster mom goes to work, WALLY rests patiently in his crate, but as soon as he hears the garage door open, it’s all excited tap dancing feet eager to burst out of the crate for playtime in the yard!
While WALLY is certainly a versatile boy, we feel he would do best in an active home that has a nice yard for him to play in, and owners that have plenty of time to spend with him throughout the day, be it long walks, runs, weekend adventures, or some kind of fun dog sport training. WALLY is ready and waiting for his forever home!
WALLY is micro-chipped, neutered, heart worm negative and on preventative, and up to date on vaccinations.
