I am a 7.5 month old Border Collie mix neutered male, all vaccinations current. I was originally a stray and picked up by my current owners from a shelter. In just 9 days, I was able to learn sit, lay down shake hand, and (get/give) ball. I love to chase after balls, squeaky toys, and play tug of war. Very friendly and playful with SOME dogs only. If a dog is friendly I respond very well. If a dog approaches and is tense or growls/barks, I will go in defense mode and bark/howl/lunge back.I do not like when strangers reach out to pet me, but I love to be petted by my own family. I also hate being pulled by my collar or pulled from under my armpits- I will nip you to warn you! The biggest thing I need to work on is not jumping on people and to come when called.
I am quite anxious / afraid of new experiences, and have shown aggression to strangers and some dogs as a result. Terrified of skateboards/skaters, weirdly shaped objects (have growled/barked at a round bush, fallen tree branch, basketball hoop) I will need a trainer or someone with experience who can help me manage it. I would likely do well in a house with a big completely-fenced in yard (tall fence, as I can jump/climb) , perhaps 1 other dog to befriend/palay with. Needs lots of walks to get energy out, but perhaps a dog companion would do the trick. Another weird thing is that I like to eat everything- plastic, rubber off of chew toys, stuffing from stuffed animals (please buy me no stuffing toys), fabrics like clothing/socks.
