BLUE

Male, 1 year, 48 lbs

BLUE NOV 2020

ADOPTED –

Meet our handsome boy BLUE! He is a 1 yr old smooth coat with beautiful blue-ish gray markings on his head and a soft coat. He is 48lbs and has a long lanky stride. BLUE’s favorite things are to play with other dogs, play in the water or to lay quietly by your side. He gets along well with cats and pays them no mind. BLUE really loves the water and will run and play like a puppy.

Check out Blue’s videos here https://youtu.be/YyPaIsvZuP0

BLUE is a shy boy. He startles at loud noises and is tentative in new situations. He wants very much to please and looks at you with a question in his eyes, asking if its OK. BLUE can be shy at first when meeting new people, but once everyone is sitting down, he will come over and sit at your feet.

BLUE needs a quiet home with routine and consistency. He needs someone who has experience with shy dogs and who has solid training skills. In the right situation, he will blossom and learn that the world is a good place. In the time he has been in foster he has made good progress towards overcoming some of his shyness and needs a place to continue to build on learning to trust and feeling safe. He would do best as an only dog at first so he can gain the confidence he needs on his own and to bond with his person. BLUE came from a working ranch so he would be better off in a rural setting where its quieter and there is room to run, but suburban might work in the right situation.

BLUE sleeps quietly in his crate at night or sometimes on the floor in the bedroom. He is potty trained as long as he is taken out to potty regularly. His leash training is coming along nicely and he is fast learner. BLUE is motivated by praise and will look to his person for reassurance and guidance. He is very attentive.

BLUE has been around small children and seems to really like kids. He is very gentle and sweet. He does not bark or dig or chew. He is starting to play with toys and will sometimes take treats. BLUE has a very good heart, he just needs someone with experience, time and patience.

BLUE is  micro-chipped, neutered, heart worm negative and on preventative, and up to date on vaccinations. If you have an approved Northern California Border Collie Rescue & Adoptions Adoption Application and wish to inquire about BLUE, please email us at Adoptions@norcalbcrescue.org. If you have an approved adoption application with Border Collie Rescue of Northern California let us know and we will request it be forwarded to us for consideration.

BLUE is being fostered in Folsom in Sacramento County, CA.
