JESS is a typical, young herding dog in that he needs exercise, activity, and stimulation. He is good at entertaining himself. You can see how entertaining he is in the videos, playing with his toys and enjoying his bone. He also loves to engage with his humans. If his foster mom is not in the same room, he will go looking for her. Jess loves to go for walks in the neighborhood. During his walks, he is on the look-out for anything that moves, i.e., squirrels, rats, cats, lizards, bunnies. He sees them all and wants to chase. I would recommend a home without cats or other small pets. He has played very well with other dogs at the dog park and does not show any signs of aggression. He walks pretty well on a leash, is not over the top with pulling, and will follow with a little tug on the leash and a “Let’s go.” He loves walks! On walks, he is not bothered by other dogs or cars. He avoids large trucks that make noise, as the noise seems to make him a little nervous. He has not been reactive to bicycles, skateboarders, or motorcycles.
