Male, 11 Months, 30 lbs
Meet TATE, TATE the Great! This darling boy is 11-months-old and 30lbs, although he still has room to grow. He is a classic border collie in every way. He has a black and white rough coat, four white paws, and the smallest speck of white on his tail. TATE is smart, energetic, and so very loyal.
His fosters haven’t met a person that doesn’t love TATE, and TATE hasn’t met a person that he doesn’t love! He greets everybody at the door with bounds of energy and thinks they have surely shown up to simply play with him. Shortly after taking a seat, it is likely that TATE will climb into your lap one paw at a time. And if he isn’t feeling shy, he will jump into your lap. He loves to be petted and told what a good boy he is!
TATE loves to play with his foster siblings and oftentimes runs laps around them, playing catch-me-if-you-can. When he isn’t romping around with said siblings, he is chewing on his toys, taking a quick snooze on the couch to rest up for his next romp, or following his human around everywhere they go (yes, everywhere!)
TATE is mostly house-trained, but he will likely need some reminders in his next home. He is getting more and more comfortable with the idea of a crate. He sleeps in his crate overnight and any time his humans are gone. TATE walks wonderfully on a leash and is both praise and treat motivated so should be an easy boy to train. He has a herding instinct and endless energy, so he will likely do best in an active home, maybe even a sports home (agility, nosework, flyball, herding, etc.). He’s not a dog that will be content with a walk and a few minutes of retrieving a ball in the backyard.
