Meet BOOTS, a sweet 12-year-old senior looking to spend his golden years in a slow-paced loving home. BOOTS is a beautifully marked smooth coat Border Collie mix, weighing in at 49 pounds. He prefers to be near people, resting at your feet; loves to be petted; and enjoys your good conversation (if you happen to like to talk to your dogs!)
Like all senior dogs, BOOTS has some arthritis and moves carefully, especially on stairs, but he is not a complainer. His foster family has him on a low dose of Carprofen to ease any discomfort, and this helps him prance a bit at dinner time and play a bit with a ball or stuffed toy when the mood arises. BOOTS otherwise has a clean bill of health, is heartworm negative, and up to date on his vaccinations. He has had no accidents in the house, is crate-trained and sleeps all night through.
BOOTS gets along fine with his foster packmates, with no issues or arguments. He’ll need a slow-paced home environment with lots of gentle human contact – his action days are behind him and staying “Mellow” is his goal. He is calm on a leash and loves to get in the car but is nervous during the ride.
