ADOPTED – ADELINE
Female, 2 years, 38 lbs
Female, 2 years, 38 lbs
As her name defines her, “ADELINE” is truly noble and beautiful inside and out. ADELINE is a smooth coat border collie weighing in at 38 pounds and standing about 23” at the shoulder. She is believed to be about two years old and has been spayed. Adeline is a beautiful, well-balanced girl with brown inquisitive and curious eyes. She has a true black and white coat and erect ears.
ADELINE is fun, energetic, and very curious. She loves to explore the yard on her own, and mostly stays close to her humans when outside. ADDIE is both agile and athletic. She will run and turn on a dime, then stop and look at you. If she hears no command, ADELINE will continue to run and play on her own.
ADELINE desires a family who will spend time with her and train her to her true potential. She learned very quickly to walk on leash, and her recall is 95% solid even with distractions. On recall, ADELINE will jump or bound over any obstacle to get to you. Whether during training or play, ADELINE is “full speed” and there is no slow down or halfway. ADELINE very quickly learned to retrieve a ball. In training, she is learning to sit and stay and will retrieve the ball on command. Her training sessions are short and several times a day with positive reinforcement and food treat reward. Currently, ADELINE is not overly toy motivated. ADELINE could be a wonderful jogging or hiking partner. She might also be a splendid agility dog; she is fast, agile, and learns very quickly.
ADELINE does extremely well in her crate. She has not had any accidents in the house or in her crate. ADDIE sleeps soundly and quietly in her crate through the night. When let outside, ADELINE will relieve herself on command with positive reinforcement. In Foster care, she has not been left to run free unsupervised in the house. She is content in her crate for down time, to eat, and to sleep. ADDIE travels well in a crate when riding in the car.
ADELINE is playful with her foster brother. She has shown some interest in squirrels and cats. ADELINE has not been exposed to babies, toddlers, or small children.
ADELINE is looking for an active family who will include her in ALL their activities, and who will support and train her to become the very best dog she can be. Dogs with ADELINE’s potential and attitude are few and far between. We think she’s very special!
