ADOPTED – ANNIE
Female, 1 year, 28 lbs.
Female, 1 year, 28 lbs.
We are happy to introduce our sweet little orphan ANNIE! She is a 28 pound, 1 year old BC mix. She has an easy-care smooth coat and very pretty sable coloring. She’s a nice small size, long and lean with an adorable curly tail. She still has a few pounds to put on, but she is already full grown.
ANNIE loves playing with her foster brother! She wants to play and be part of the pack. She will do well with another young dog who also likes to wrestle and chase, or an older dog that loves to play. She likes to chase cats and would do best in a home without cats. She can be choosey in her taste for treats, but she has learned to sit for a cookie after a bit of practice. Annie is praise-motivated and is very smart, but she will need someone who is patient when training her as she is just learning to learn. Annie is very athletic, often leaping over her foster brother to come inside. She will make a great hiking/running/adventure partner too!
ANNIE is an active, energetic girl but not over-the-top. As a young herding dog, she will need daily exercise and mental stimulation. After a walk or playtime, she will settle on her bed nicely with a chew toy to keep herself occupied. She loves to chew! She likes to chew on any kind of chew toy. Her foster mom has been helping her learn what toys are appropriate for chewing. She loves plush and squeaky toys too. Anything fun and this girl in!
ANNIE can be somewhat shy meeting new people. She needs slow introductions. Once she knows you, she will follow you around, wanting to be with you. Her foster feels that with patient exposure to people, consistency and training, she can overcome this. Annie is learning to walk on a leash and has improved with each walk. She rides fine in a car, no drooling or car sickness, and is best being crated in the car.
ANNIE loves to cuddle with her humans and her foster brother. She goes into her crate at night with a treat, and after a few minutes of quiet protest she settles down and is quiet the rest of the night. She is still working on potty-training, but she has not had any recent accidents in the house. She has free roam of the house when her foster family is at home, but mostly stays close to her foster mom while she works. When her foster is away, she is fine with being crated for an hour or 2 during the day. Annie will do best with someone who is home most of the day, and who has a quiet household.
ANNIE is a very sweet dog who is going to make someone a wonderful companion. She is willing and eager to please. She just wants to be with her person and be part of the family.
