ADOPTED – APOLLO

Male 6 months 38 lbs.
Say hello to our fun boy Apollo! He a 6-month-old, 38 pound, male Border Collie with classic markings, gorgeous big ears and a cute little short tail.
Apollo has been a joy to foster over the past few weeks. Apollo loves people and does great when there are visitors at the house. He also plays well with the 3 other dogs at his foster home and is fine sharing food or toys. He sits to receive pets and is quickly learning multiple commands such as “wait,” “sit,” “crate,” “come,” and “get back.” He walks well on a leash most of the time, but can become distracted, so he will need some additional work on leash training. He is sometimes overstimulated by small dogs and would do best in a home without small dogs. He is interested in cats, but can be easily redirected so he would likely be OK with dog savvy cats. Apollo has shown some interest in balls and toys but is more interested in playing with his dog pals, swimming or interacting with his person.
Apollo is a medium-energy young boy who needs plenty of exercise and mental stimulation, but also has an “off-switch” and can settle down with ease. He learns quickly and is easily redirected. He is eager to please his person and he loves to snuggle! He is both treat and praise motivated. Apollo rides quietly in a crate on car rides. He also sleeps quietly through the night in his crate and is OK with being crated during the day if his foster is away. His free time is usually spent outside with his foster brothers and sisters. He is potty trained and has not had any accidents in his crate. Overall, he is a really wonderful and fun dog who will make a great companion for an active family or individual.
