Meet HENRI! Henri is a handsome 36 lbs., two year old, black and white smooth coat border collie (possibly McNabb mix) with big brown eyes and soft ears looking for his forever home. He loves belly rubs, ear rubs and long walks. He is great on a leash, travels well in his crate in the car and takes his treats gently. Henri knows basic skills, such as “sit”, and is learning to “shake”. He is a quick learner.
HENRI does well on walks through the neighborhood. He is not bothered by cars or trucks. He has some fear of strange dogs and cats, and bicycles. He is not aggressive at all and if he sees a strange dog, his first instinct is to turn and go the other way. Once the other dog, cat or bicycle is out of site, he is quick to resume his walk. The more walks and more friendly dogs he meets, the more engaging he is with the other dogs.
In his initial foster home, HENRI got along well with the other dogs, enjoyed running and playing with them. His tendency was to be submissive to more dominant dog personalities, but then get right back up and ready for more play. HENRI enjoyed playing ball and keep away with this doggie housemates. He would likely enjoy having the company of another well behaved dog.
HENRI is not a barker, he has only barked once in his foster home and that was in response to the next door neighbor’s dog barking at the fence.
He sleeps quietly through the night, his crate is his nighttime castle.
HENRI potties well outside, he does not have free range in his foster home. Has not marked in his foster home, but is supervised when checking things out.
