THE SNACK PACK litter is a group of the sweetest puppies we’ve had in a long time. Even the spunkiest & most adventurous of the puppies is super sweet. Born around March 27th, the pups are almost 10 weeks old & are ready, ready to go to their forever homes. All of the puppies are “border collie” energetic & smart, so be prepared with games, training opportunities, or dog sports for these dearies; they may like dock-diving as they all like to play in water. They will not be content going on walks around the block, or playing catch in the backyard. That said, if you give them what they need to work their little brains & bodies, they all have an “off switch” & will be happy snuggling, or hanging out with you—some more than others, so ask lots of questions about the puppy you want to bring home. The puppies live with other animals in their foster home, so they are well-socialized to dogs, cats, & even two African tortoises. They have had lots of visitors in their foster home, & they have been charming to one & all. They all know how to go in & out of the doggy door, but they don’t yet have a firm grasp of housebreaking, as they’re all still together, providing each other with plenty of distractions. As smart as they are, that will come together easily once they have one-on-one, consistent direction from you. They eat their meals in their crates & have ridden in a large crate together for car rides from the shelter to their foster home & to the vet, etc. without getting carsick. Based on their current weights, we guess the pups will be between 30-40 pounds when they’re full-grown.
BEAN (DIP) is an 8 pound, mostly black rough-coated boy with the softest coat & the dearest expression. His eyes when he looks at you are the eyes of an old soul, as if he’s taking you right into his heart. Bean is playful & energetic, but not over the top, & he settles nicely. He often watches for a few moments before joining in whatever is going on. He simply likes to check things out.. Bean likes to play with people most & he’s also happy to play with toys of his own. His favorite toy is a flirt pole. He has nice focus & pays attention as if he’s taking in every word you say. And he’s a fast learner because he listens, & is treat & toy-motivated. Bean will want to be with you, doing things together that you will both enjoy. And because he is thoughtful & affectionate, he will bond easily. If you’re looking for a lovely, smart border collie boy, who is not over the top, but who will be willing to do whatever you ask him to do & then snuggle with you afterward, Bean may be your new best friend.
BEAN (DIP) is started on his puppy vaccines, wormed, and microchipped. He is also on flea & tick and heartworm prevention. As a condition of puppy adoption, he will need to be altered when he reaches approximately 6 months (specific time to be determined by your vet). In addition to the adoption fee, puppy adoption requires a $75 spay/neuter deposit. Upon our receiving the spay/neuter certificate from you, the deposit is refunded. If you have an approved Northern California Border Collie Rescue & Adoptions Adoption Application and wish to inquire about BEAN (DIP), please email us at Adoptions@norcalbcrescue.org. If you have an approved adoption application with Border Collie Rescue of Northern California let us know and we will request it be forwarded to us for consideration.
BEAN (DIP) is being fostered in Live Oak in Sutter County, CA.
