Male, 11 weeks. 14 lbs
BUCKLEY (BUCK BUCK) is an 11 week male bundle of joy. This 14 pound, tri-colored Border collie mix loves life. He has fun no matter what he’s doing. He enjoys being petted, will follow you around everywhere, and enjoys playing with his three adult dog siblings. He can be a little shy when he first meets another dog, but quickly gains confidence. He is not shy at all when meeting people. He loves everyone he meets. BUCKLEY would love another dog to learn from and hang out with, but may do well in a home as an only dog if his family wants to spend lots of time with him. If there is not another dog in the family he would benefit from play dates with other dogs.
BUCKLEY loves to chase and be chased, and loves toys; bones, food balls, squeaky toys, tennis balls…bring ‘em on. He can’t have too many. He’ll chase a ball around, pick it up and carry it like a trophy, until something or someone else catches his eye, and then it’s on to the next thing. He is gaining confidence every day. When he first arrived he would not leave the deck unless one of his foster parents accompanied him. He still prefers if we go, but will now follow the other dogs down the long ramp to the yard. BUCKLEY is also a water hose chaser. If we are spraying down the deck he will jump in and try to get that water. He has also been spotted traipsing through the outside water bowl so there is a good chance he’d love visits to a lake or the beach.
BUCK BUCK does well in his crate overnight, sleeping quietly until he has to potty. He will cry to let us know it’s time. He has not had an accident in his crate and is getting the potty outside thing down. He is doing well with house training for the short amount of time we have had him. He also travels pretty well in a crate. He will cry for a couple minutes, then settle down and remain quiet for the rest of the trip to and from town (about a half hour each way). Our boy also LOVES meal time and treats, and combined with being praise motivated should make training a blast. He is very smart. He learned the ins and outs of the doggy door his first day here.
BUCKLEY is started on his puppy vaccines, wormed, and microchipped. As a condition of puppy adoption, he will need to be altered when he reaches approximately 6 months (specific time to be determined by your vet). In addition to the adoption fee, puppy adoption requires a $75 spay/neuter deposit. Upon our receiving the spay/neuter certificate from you, the deposit is refunded.
