Male, 8 months, 28 lbs

Meet Cosmo, an 8-month-old, 28# border collie mix. He is sweet, enthusiastic, playful, curious, & ready for his forever home! Cosmo bounds through life & loves learning new things: how to retrieve his Holy Roller ball & return it, that other dogs are as much fun as Disneyland, & that when he rides in the car, it’s great because he gets to meet new people & have “puppaventures” when the car reaches its destination. Even going to the vet is a joyous adventure for him. To this kiddo, everything is good!

Cosmo is growing up fast, & he needs to continue to be challenged & directed. He was picked up stray in a rural county, & it seems as though he got little direction & attention in his previous life. However, in his foster home, he has shown an eagerness to learn & a nice desire to please. Cosmo quickly learned to sit before being released from his crate & to go through doorways. He has learned to ride nicely in the car to & from the vet’s office & on longer road trips. And he is a dreamboat for a bath. He is crate-trained, & as long as he is taken outside regularly, he doesn’t have accidents in the house.

Cosmo has so much potential! He loves toys & treats & is motivated by both. He loves other dogs, & follows their lead, so another happy, adventurous pal in his forever home would be ideal for him. He would also be happy to have dog friends he could visit or go on adventures with like wading & chasing sticks in the creek. We don’t know about cats. While Cosmo is active & adventurous, he has an off-switch, & he is not over-the-top-busy. He can settle with a chew toy quite happily.

For someone who enjoys training & has training experience, Cosmo will be a very rewarding partner & a really fun pal. He will benefit from positive, game-based training, but also from clear boundaries & expectations, as well as lots of exercise & activity. So, if you’re looking a sweet & fun-loving buddy with whom you can share adventures & then hang out afterwards, Cosmo may be your new best friend.

COSMO is micro-chipped, neutered, heartworm negative and on preventative, and up-to-date on vaccinations.
