ADOPTED – DODGER

Male, 2 years, 45 lbs
Allow me the pleasure of introducing you to a very special member of the NCBCRA family, DODGER. Dodger is approximately two years old and weighs 45 pounds. When Dodger came into the program, it appeared he had never lived inside a home and had no human interaction, and now it has all become 2nd nature to him.
DODGER loves human interaction. He quickly approaches new humans. He will give you the biggest grin, position himself adorably on your side, and look deeply into your eyes, asking for love and attention. Once he knows you, Dodger is affectionate and loving. I have to admit it’s the cutest thing!
Although DODGER is a sensitive boy, Dodger’s confidence in the home has grown tremendously. His favorite thing is to get a chew bone and lay down on his comfy bed. He loves toys but will not bring a ball back to you. He prefers chewing his toys. He is a low-drive dog who may enjoy activities like scent or nose work.
DODGER gains confidence from his doggy friends and enjoys playing with every dog he meets. He has had countless cheerful dog social experiences and is a social rockstar with his dog friends. He will run, play, and hang out with his doggy friends. Dodger does a beautiful job reading the room and adjusting his play style to match his play partner. He will wrestle, chase, and play bitey face with his doggy friends. He must live with a resident dog to show him the ropes in a new home.
DODGER is highly food motivated, so training is fun. I pair new experiences with tasty treats so Dodger has a positive emotional response. When faced with a unique experience Dodger may be shy at first but he responds beautifully to positive reinforcement and encouragement.
DODGER loves his neighborhood walks. I allow him to sniff, explore, and engage with the environment. While on a leash he is not reactive to humans or other dogs. He curiously watches novel environmental objects and then returns to sniffing.
DODGER loves to chase things that move (shocking, I know!) so no young children, livestock, or kitty cats for Mr Dodger. Dodger is house-trained and crate trained.
DODGER is a “happy, go-lucky” guy who will make someone very happy as a new family member. He is a curious young dog that has a lot of growth potential. Are you willing to give Dodger the love and patience that this special boy deserves? Apply today so that you can meet Dodger!
