ADOPTED Dolly

Female, 1 year 4 months, 40 lbs
My name is DOLLY. I’m a single, “sweet as can be” female and 16-months-old. A lady never tells her weight, but I’m 40-something pounds. Let’s keep that between us. My friends say, “I’m a wild and crazy gal” because I’m always excited to play and often the life of the party. I also love playing in water. I was able to check out a shallow pond recently and had a blast playing and splashing around. Not sure I want to swim, but maybe…but the water wasn’t deep enough to try.
Some dogs think I play too rough, but I’m a herding dog and it’s my instinct to round up the troops. My favorite game to play with my canine friends is chase. I love to run! I’m housebroken, crate- trained and not picky about toys. I’ll play with any toy you’ll give me, but I hope you’ll want to play with me. Maybe some catch? I might not always bring the ball back, so you’ll be running and catching, too. I never met a cat before, but I know I’d love to chase one of them, so a home without a cat is probably a good idea for me. I’m young and like most ladies, I’m always watching my figure. I’m happy, healthy, and still learning what I like with each new experience.
My foster mom says I’m very special because I have one blue eye and one brown eye. She hopes someone will love me as much as she does, but I don’t know if that’s possible. She’s always kissing me, and I kiss her back about a million times a day. She’s taught me to sit, stay, lay down, come, and of course her favorite, how to kiss. I’d love to learn more tricks and will do almost anything for a treat. I enjoy long walks, but my foster mom walks slowly and I just want to be free and run with the wind in my fur. I pull her sometimes, but she’s teaching me to enjoy each step and slow down a little bit. While I’m still learning, I like walking in more quiet areas, where I don’t have too much stimulation with other dogs. When I’m on leash, my foster mom says I need to focus on her. I am really good at letting her know when someone comes onto the property or to the door, so she can feel safe.
Ideally, I’m looking for a partner who will love me to infinity and beyond. I’m looking for a home with property, perhaps a more rural setting, so I have lots of room to run and play and have less distraction. I would maybe like a friend to run and play with, but they would need to keep up with me and like to play and wrestle. I’m young, smart, and willing to learn—and I learn quickly.
