ADOPTED – JACK
Male, 10 weeks
Male, 10 weeks
Meet Jack, an adorable black and white smooth coat border collie cross. Born on March 18th, he is now ten weeks old, and is eagerly ready to find his forever home. Jack is a wonderful, well-balanced little boy with dark, inquisitive eyes. He is always listening and thinking as he looks at you.
Jack is fun, energetic, and very curious. He loves to explore the yard on his own, and mostly stays close to his human when running free. Jack is both agile and athletic. He will run and turn on a dime, then stop, bark, and look at you. Even at his young age, Jack navigates stairs like a champ.
Jack has learned very quickly to respond to his recall whistle, running back to you from anywhere in the yard. In his free play time, he is learning to retrieve a ball and to chase a soft toy. In training, he has learned “sit” and “down.” Jack is also learning to stay on his “place,” and to settle and relax. His training sessions are very short and several times a day with positive praise, reinforcement, and food treat reward. Jack is toy-motivated and loves to tug. He is a thinker and wants to please his trainer. Like most puppies, Jack needs supervision and must be redirected so not to develop bad habits. Jack must have a family who will spend time with him and train him to his true potential. This little guy is smart, agile, fast, and focused. Dog sports anyone?
Jack does very well in his inside crate. He has not had any accidents in the house or in his crate. Between potty breaks, Jack sleeps soundly and quietly in his crate. When let outside, Jack has learned very quickly to relieve himself on command with positive reinforcement. Jack has not been left to run free unsupervised in the house. Jack is content in his crate for down time and to sleep. During daylight hours, Jack has an x-pen for downtime, breakfast, lunch, dinner, and napping. Jack travels quiet and calm in a crate when riding in the car.
Jack is playful with his canine foster big brother. He will stand his ground and is not submissive, but he is respectful. Jack has been exposed to young children. He is not overly mouthy and does not jump up on children and or adults.
Jack desires an active family with a “puppy plan,” someone who will include him in ALL their activities, and who will support and train him to become the very best dog he can be. He loves to run and play. That said, Jack must have a job—more than tossing a ball or walks around the park. He has an inquisitive, active mind that needs to be stimulated. Jack is a leader not a follower and is very independent. He is also very sweet and loves to be cuddled.
JACK is started on his puppy vaccines, wormed, and microchipped. As a condition of puppy adoption, he will need to be altered when he reaches approximately 6 months (specific time to be determined by your vet). In addition to the adoption fee, puppy adoption requires a $75 spay/neuter deposit. Upon our receiving the spay/neuter certificate from you, the deposit is refunded.
