Male, 2 years, 38 lbs
Meet our sweet and silly JASPER! He is a 38 pound, 2-year-old BC/Aussie mix with a beautiful red, full rough coat and gorgeous golden eyes. But there’s more to JASPER than his dashing good looks! He is the life of the party; in fact, he knows how to make his own party. JASPER’s favorite thing is his toys. He loves to flip toys around in the air and play like a puppy. He also loves to be with his people and is very friendly and affectionate with everyone he meets. JASPER gets along great with the dogs at his foster home, but is overly cat-curious. He has not hurt the cats, but he is too attentive to the cats and it would be in his best interest to be in a cat-free environment.
JASPER sleeps quietly in his crate at night. He loads up easily and rides quietly in the car. He is fully potty trained with no accidents. He only barks if he wants your attention, but does not bark at the mailman. He is treat, toy, and praise motivated, takes treats softly and will be a joy to train. He already loves to go on leashed walks, and even is a pretty nice leash-walker. He walks out ahead, but is not a vigorous puller and is curious and happy when he sees others people and dogs on his walks.
JASPER would do best in a home where his person is home most of the time. He is OK being crated for an hour or two during the day, if his foster needs to run an errand, but he can get into mischief if left on his own loose in the house or yard. He is a medium to high energy boy who needs daily exercise and mental stimulation. He loves his chew toys and has a wonderful time de-fluffing stuffed toys. He would also do really well with another dog to play with.
Overall, he is a lovely, sweet, soft boy who is ready to find his forever home and family.
