Jesse is a 15-week-old smarty. As in very smart! She is athletic, playful, independent, & inquisitive. She loves learning new things & will be a joy to train. In fact, she would make someone a wonderful agility partner. And if she is not someone’s agility partner, she will thrive in a home where she learns new things & gets to exercise her brains as well as her body. If she doesn’t have mental stimulation to wear her out, she finds things to do like chewing. Already, she has mastered games of tug—which she loves! – & the doggie door. She is also learning to play fetch—as long as some tug is part of the game. She is making great progress at learning her recall, & while she loves to splash around in the kiddy pool, she is not yet an enthusiastic fan of swimming.
Jesse is initially shy upon meeting strangers, but in a quick minute she is a playful, happy pup; she has made friends with every human she has met. She gets along well with older dogs & has learned to respect their space. She is interested in the cats in her foster home as they sit on their table above her. On her walks in the neighborhood, if a cat runs, she will chase; if they sit still & watch her, she is not so brave.
Jesse spends the night & quiet time in her crate and is learning to “kennel” on request. She eats her meals in her crate. She will alert if she needs to potty while in her crate but is not as reliable about signaling while free in the house.
JESSE is started on her puppy vaccines, wormed, and microchipped. She is also on flea & tick and heartworm prevention. As a condition of puppy adoption, she will need to be altered when she reaches approximately 6 months (specific time to be determined by your vet). In addition to the adoption fee, puppy adoption requires a $75 spay/neuter deposit. Upon our receiving the spay/neuter certificate from you, the deposit is refunded. If you have an approved Northern California Border Collie Rescue & Adoptions Adoption Application and wish to inquire about NYLA, please email us at Adoptions@norcalbcrescue.org. If you have an approved adoption application with Border Collie Rescue of Northern California let us know and we will request it be forwarded to us for consideration.
JESSE is being fostered in Anderson, CA in Shasta County, CA.
