ADOPTED – NASH

Male, 2 years, 35 lbs

**ADOPTION PENDING**

NASH is a two-year-old male black and white rough-coat Border Collie, weighing 35 pounds.

Bonus: He’s a happy-go-lucky Border Collie with a relaxed temperament—not your typical high-energy herding dog. Nash is a true unicorn—just as happy to lounge around as he is to play!

DOGS & CATS

NASH loves all dogs—big, small, playful, or reserved. He has been introduced to many dogs of different breeds, sizes, and temperaments and gets along beautifully with all of them. He’s naturally submissive and avoids conflict, making him a fantastic companion for multi-dog households. His favorite games include chase and bitey-face, but he also enjoys just hanging out with his dog friends. Plus, he’s a pro snuggler when it comes to other dogs!

Bonus: Nash is also cat-friendly! He has shown a calm and appropriate demeanor around cats, making him a great candidate for a home with feline family members.

HUMANS

While Nash loves every dog he meets, he absolutely ADORES people. He’s friendly with all humans, happily approaching new people and loyally following his own. Snuggles, cuddles, and kisses? He’s all in!

PLAY

Nash enjoys playing with toys but doesn’t have strong toy drive. He hasn’t shown interest in fetch or disc in his foster home.

CAR RIDES

Nash gets a little nervous in the car and could use more positive experiences and fun outings to build his confidence.

HEALTH

In early 2024, Nash underwent double FHO (Femoral Head Ostectomy) surgery, where the top part of both of his femoral heads (thigh bones) were removed to relieve pain from hip issues. This procedure allows his body to form a “false joint” with scar tissue and muscle, enabling him to move comfortably without the pain of bone-on-bone contact.

The surgery was a great success! Nash has recovered well and built solid muscle tone. To keep him feeling his best, he needs to stay lean and have daily leashed walks to maintain muscle and joint health. With the right training, he could even be a fantastic weekend hiking partner!

Bonus: Nash is a model patient at the vet—what a good boy!

TRAINING & BEHAVIOR

NASH is crate trained, house trained, and walks well on a leash. He loves exploring his surroundings but always looks to his handler for guidance and support. Plus, he’s highly food-motivated, making training fun and rewarding!

NASH is micro-chipped, spayed, heartworm negative and on preventative, and up-to-date on vaccinations.
