Female, 14 weeks. 25 lbs
PAIGE is an approximately 14-week-old, smooth coat girlie currently around 25#s. She has loads of energy and spends most of her day on the go. She loves to wrestle, chase, and play with the other dogs in her foster home. And if she’s playing on her own rather than playing with others, she is starting to learn to retrieve toys. If we had to pick, we’d say that her favorite activities involve the pool; she loves the excitement! She is a good swimmer, so she might even make a great dock diving prospect. She is a probably a bit more toy-motivated than food-motivated at this point in her growing up, yet she is figuring out that she gets treats for doing good things and making good choices. Paige gets along with other dogs in her foster home, especially the other puppy close to her age, and the older dogs as long as she is not too puppy-wild. She travels well and is mostly quiet in her crate. She sleeps quietly or entertains herself with toys in her pen.
PAIGE is still learning to do things puppies need to learn like reliable name recognition, potty-training, and manners like sitting, etc. She is teething so like most pups her age she will chew things she shouldn’t, if she isn’t given a productive activity or alternative. She gets very excited at mealtime and is learning to settle before she is given her food. While she hasn’t been around cats, she would probably enjoy chasing them, so a home without cats is a good idea. Paige can be initially shy when meeting new people, but warms up nicely. She simply needs more experience meeting people. She has started to learn to walk on a leash, yet like most herding dog puppies she can get distracted by all the new things she sees on her walk. Paige is learning by leaps and bounds, but she can get distracted and wound up when the other dogs in her foster home are around, so a home with someone who loves and has experience training a herding dog puppy and who knows how to channel the border collie puppy energy and brains is the kind of home she will thrive in.
PAIGE is started on her puppy vaccines, wormed, and microchipped. She is also on flea & tick and heartworm prevention.
