Male, 1 year, 50 lbs
DUE TO THE OVERWHELMING INTEREST IN PATRICK WE WILL NO LONGER BE ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS. THANK YOU!
Meet PATRICK! He is a silly, sweet, friendly boy who has been incredibly well behaved in his foster home. Sometimes we forget that he’s only a year old because he is just that good in the house. While PATRICK is almost 50 pounds, he hides it well in his compact little body. He has a beautiful soft black and white coat, with signature Border Collie feathering and perfect perky ears.
PATRICK has two foster siblings, and gets along beautifully with both. He likes to play with the younger dog, often engaging in play either by dancing around or offering up a toy. When PATRICK can’t find a playmate, he will still play with toys, often collecting them all and taking them to his bed in the living room.
PATRICK has three indoor kitties in his foster home, and while he was very curious about them at first, he’s decided they’re not much fun to play with, as they don’t play fair and don’t engage him in play when he tries so hard to pique their interest. He is a very athletic boy, and would make a wonderful running or hiking partner. We would like to see Patrick go to an active home, someone who will take him on all their adventures.
There are so many endearing qualities to this precious dog. He likes to “talk” to us, kind of a combo of a soft woowoooooowowoww followed by a wiggle butt asking for attention and cuddles. PATRICK is such a lover, cuddling quietly beside his foster mom or just laying close by on the floor enjoying tv time with us. He likes to go for walks, often accompanying us to go feed horses and the like. He could use some more intense leash training, but for now we just let him enjoy coming along with us on a long line. PATRICK is both treat and praise oriented, which is going to make training this smart boy so much fun.
PATRICK is crate trained, enjoying his meals in the privacy of his own crate, and also sleeps quietly through the night in his crate in my bedroom. He hasn’t had an accident in his foster home, but will let us know when he needs out by pacing and giving a little whine. PATRICK is ready to meet his new forever family and start his new adventures!
