ADOPTED – PIRELLI

Female,6 months 36 lbs.

Meet our sweet girl, Pirelli. She is a 6-month-old 36#, BC/Aussie mix with very pretty tri-color markings, and a cute little bobbed tail. Pirelli came in as a stray who was picked up by animal control near a tire store with her 3 littermates, so they all got tire names: Pirelli, Toyo, Apollo and Firestone!

Pirelli’s favorite thing is her person. She wants to be near her person most of the time. A very close second favorite thing is her foster brothers and sisters. She gets along well with dogs of all sizes and loves to play and wrestle. She would do well with another dog also likes to play. She would also be fine as an only dog as long as she gets plenty of attention and exercise. Pirelli is a little bit curious about the cat in her foster home, but she does not chase and is respectful of the cat, so she would very likely be OK in a home with dog savvy cats.

Pirelli is a medium to high energy young girl who needs daily exercise and mental stimulation. After a walk or a romp in the yard with the other dogs, she will settle nicely for a few hours, then want to go play again later in the day. She loves plush toys and chew toys but and is starting to show interest in a ball. She will chase the dog who is chasing the ball! She also loves the water and is a great swimmer.

Pirelli can be somewhat shy meeting new people or in new situations. She needs a little extra time to get used to new things or people. She will warm up to new people after a short time, if they go slow and let her approach them. Pirelli needs a home where she can learn to gain confidence in the outside world. Since she is still young, her foster mom is confident that she can overcome this with patience and time.

She is crate trained and sleeps quietly in her crate at night. She is OK being crated for a few hours while her foster mom is away, but she will whine a bit when being crated during the day. She is potty trained and uses the dog door to go out when needed.

Pirelli knows some basic commands like sit and come. She is very treat-motivated and pays attention to her person. She is working on her leash skills. She is also working on loading up in a car. She needs a little help getting in, but once she is in the car and clipped into her harness/seatbelt clip, she rides quietly in the car.

Pirelli is a super sweet, soft girl who would make a wonderful companion for someone who wants to be with their dog most of the time. She would not do well being left alone for long periods of time. She has been a very well-mannered house guest and has not chewed anything inappropriate. She is allowed run of most of the house while super-vised. Pirelli is ready for her forever family!

PIRELLI is micro-chipped, spayed, heartworm negative and on preventative, and up-to-date on vaccinations.
