ADOPTED – SIAN (Pronounced Shawn)
Female, 1 year, 45 Pounds
Female, 1 year, 45 Pounds
SIAN (pronounced Shawn) is a lovely, 45 pound, one-year-old girl who is looking for her forever home.
She has fit it so easily to her foster care home and is eager to please She prefers to be by her human’s side and will nap quietly while you are working or busy with tasks that do not involve her. If necessary, however, she is also comfortable by herself outside or resting alone in her crate.
SIAN enjoys her “work”; currently retrieving a ball 20-30 times a day or patrolling the park while walking nicely on a leash. Like most border collies, she does need a job to feel useful and likes to feel she is contributing to the family.
She is the perfect combination of high energy when the opportunity arises, but also calm and quiet when needed. She will bark to alert you of potential intruders but believes you when you tell her it is OK and loves meeting strangers once assured by you that they are safe.
SIAN is looking for a home where she can be “top dog.” At her last home, she struggled and sometimes fought with the alpha male dog, so an only dog home might be best for her. The cats in her foster home expect her to keep her distance and she reluctantly complies–she is respectful and does not chase, although she would very much like to be closer friends with the felines.
She has never had an accident in her crate (where she sleeps) or when she is out in the house. Her toileting/housetraining habits are impeccable.
Her new owner will need to brush her regularly. Her coat needs frequent brushing, but she seems to have had a bad grooming experience in the past and shies from the brush. Patience will be needed to keep her looking her best.
All in all, this delightful beauty will make the perfect, lovely companion and addition to your family.
