Adopted SYLVIE

Female, 8 Months, 37 lbs
Sylvie is a compact, 37-pound young lady, who is about 8-months-old. Based on her markings & build, we guess that she is a border collie/Australian cattle dog mix. Her coat is short & slick, a beautiful black & white merle, & she has one ear that stands up like a toy soldier & the other that flops like a mini-lop rabbit. Her floppy ear may still stand up, but either way, she is adorable.
Sylvie is active & athletic & loves to do things with her person. Her foster mom takes her everywhere with her, & she loves meeting new people. She will also entertain herself in her crate, if her foster parents are not available & she has a chew toy or a stuffed Kong. She is quiet & hardly ever barks. She also rides nicely in the car in a crate. Sylvie sleeps quietly in her crate at night & settles nicely in the house when she is not engaged in play with her people or other dogs. She has only had an occasional accident in her foster home. Sylvie comes when she is called & especially if you have a treat. And she even recalls when there are moving targets to chase like cats—well, most of the time. She walks pretty well on leash, but sometimes responds to other moving animals. That said, she is good around horses & other dogs & is surprisingly good around chickens.
Sylvie loves water & seems to know how to swim. She loves people & playing with other dogs, & plays boundlessly like a typical border collie puppy. Sylvie loves to play with toys & will happily roll her ball around the yard or carry it around in her mouth. Sylvie especially loves her chew toys, & is learning what is appropriate to chew. Because she is both treat & toy-motivated, she will be fun to train. She has a nice desire to please & responds well to direction.
