Meet TUCKER, an approximately one-year-old, 40-pound rough-coated Border collie with a heart as big as his boundless energy! This happy-go-lucky boy is all about love and snuggles, and he’ll charm his way into your heart in no time. Tucker adores his humans—he hasn’t met a person he doesn’t like. In fact, he’ll always choose to be by your side over spending time with his canine buddies.
TUCKER is a social butterfly who enjoys playing with other dogs, but his enthusiasm sometimes gets the best of him, and he may unintentionally overwhelm more reserved pups. With the right playmates, however, he’s a joy to watch and a delight to have around.
While TUCKER loves going on walks, he’s still learning to master his leash manners. This eager adventurer tends to move around his handler, but his intelligence and willingness to please mean he’ll pick up proper leash skills in no time with consistent training.
TUCKER’s natural athleticism and sharp mind make him an exciting candidate for dog sports. Whether its agility, flyball, or even obedience competitions, his energy and focus have the potential to shine in an active, goal-oriented environment. With proper training and guidance, Tucker could thrive as a sport dog, channeling his enthusiasm into a productive and rewarding outlet.
Outings are a treat for TUCKER, though he can sometimes be a little shy. His hesitation stems from a lack of exposure to new experiences, so he’ll thrive with a family that can safely and thoughtfully introduce him to the world around him. Like any young dog, Tucker will benefit immensely from an appropriate socialization plan to help him gain confidence and navigate life with ease.
One of TUCKER’s most endearing traits is his expressive ears—you’ll always know what he’s thinking just by looking at them! They’re as adorable as they are full of personality.
At home, TUCKER is a cooperative companion. His recall training is coming along beautifully and has become increasingly reliable in his current foster home. He’s crate trained & house trained. In his previous foster home, Tucker liked the kitties too much so a home without cats would be best.
If you’re searching for a lovable, energetic, and smart pup to join your family—or a potential future sport dog superstar—Tucker is ready to bring joy, laughter, and plenty of snuggles to your life. Could you be the forever home he’s been dreaming of?
