ADOPTED Willow

Female, 8 months, Medium Size

Say hello to WILLOW, an 8m old BC mix female. Her foster mom thinks she might be mixed with Kelpie. She has a lovely soft easy care smooth coat, the cutest little socks on her feet and a tiny white tip on her tail. WILLOW is a medium to high energy girl who loves to play but will settle down when playtime is over. She loves other dogs and gets along with cats too. She will try to play (gently) with the cats, so any cats in the home would have to be dog savvy.

WILLOW loves to go for walks and is doing OK with her leash training. She will need to work on basic training and building confidence. She will sometimes startle at sudden movements or loud noises and needs a gentle touch when training or correcting. She likes to flop over on her back and show her belly when she is unsure of something. Most of the time she is very playful and sweet and ready to go on the next adventure. WILLOW will need daily walks and playtime. She likes toys, but has not shown much interest in a ball. That might come later. She especially loves other dogs and would do really well in a home with another young and playful dog.

WILLOW follows her foster mom around the house and loves to be with her people and loves meeting new people too. She is not shy when meeting new people or dogs. She does well in a crate at night and if her foster mom needs to leave for a few hours. Left on her own, she will get into mischief and does need to be crated when no one is home. She is still very much a puppy. She has not chewed anything inappropriate, but will sometimes grab a shoe and run away with it like its a game.

WILLOW is potty trained and there is a dog door in her foster home where shes goes out when she needs to. She was a little hesitant about the car at first, but now she jumps right in and rides fine clipped into a seat belt and harness. She is very food motivated and will sit perfectly for a treat.

WILLOW loves to play in the water, here is a link to a short video of her playing in a kiddie pool and doing some zoomies around the yard. https://photos.app.goo.gl/mhSbQx4Wq2VoFUKy9

She isn’t ready to fully swim yet, but will likely be a great swimmer in time.

WILLOW needs a home with enough activity to keep up with her energy level but not so much that she will get overwhelmed. Her forever home will need to give her some extra patience with training and reassurance in situations where she might be unsure, she is an easy keeper. She is a soft, cuddly, lovely little girl who is going to make a great addition to the family.

WILLOW is micro-chipped, spayed, heart worm negative and on preventative, and up to date on vaccinations. If you have an approved Northern California Border Collie Rescue & Adoptions Adoption Application and wish to inquire about Tripp, please email us at Adoptions@norcalbcrescue.org. If you have an approved adoption application with Border Collie Rescue of Northern California let us know and we will request it be forwarded to us for consideration.

WILLOW is fostered in Folsom in Placer County, CA.
