ADOPTED – ZIGGY

Male, 4 1/2 Months. 22 lbs

ZIGGY OCT 2022

ZIGGY is a 4 ½ month young puppy with a soft medium coat who weighs in at 22 lbs. ZIGGY, aka Zig Zag, Ziggles, or just plain old Zig, loves people and loves other dogs. Zig loves to be petted, whether its belly rubs on the couch or running over to sit wherever we happen to be. He will jump up on people if he is not being given the attention he feels he deserves, but he is so light and gentle that, at this stage, it is not a big problem. None the less we are discouraging that behavior.

ZIGGY will need plenty of bones and toys as his big boy teeth replace those baby teeth. He is easy to redirect to toys if he should be chewing on something undesirable. ZIG does understand “no” but will give you that “who, me?” look. It’s adorable, trust me. He is starting to get “sit” on command and is more praise than treat motivated so training should be lots of fun and very rewarding.

ZIG’s favorite things are hanging on the couch with dad, “herding” his buddy Perkins, who lets him think Zig is directing things, and eating meals. He does eat all of his meals in his crate, and lets you know when he has gobbled it all up. ZIGGY adapted quickly to crate training, and is also potty trained, with no accidents in his foster home. He may do best in a home with another dog to pal around with, but would be fine as an only dog if he is getting a lot of attention. This adorable, friendly boy is set to begin his life with his forever family.

ZIGGY is started on his puppy vaccines, wormed, and microchipped. He is also on heartworm and flea and tick prevention. As a condition of puppy adoption, he will need to be altered when he reaches approximately 6 months (specific time to be determined by your vet). In addition to the adoption fee, puppy adoption requires a $75 spay/neuter deposit. Upon our receiving the spay/neuter certificate from you, the deposit is refunded. If you have an approved Northern California Border Collie Rescue & Adoptions Adoption Application and wish to inquire about ZIGGY, please email us at Adoptions@norcalbcrescue.org. If you have an approved adoption application with Border Collie Rescue of Northern California let us know and we will request it be forwarded to us for consideration.

ZIGGY is being fostered in Corning in Tehama County, California.
