Female, 8 Months, 28 lbs
DARLA is an 8-month-old, 28lb, black and white Border Collie mix. She has a low maintenance smooth coat and ears that don’t miss a beat. DARLA is, as you can imagine, quite darling and loves showing off for the camera!
DARLA is everything you would expect an 8-month-old pup to be. She is obsessed with any and all toys and does a fine job entertaining herself with a squeaker ball. If you’d like to play along, she would love that even more! She enjoys chasing after a ball and is learning the game of fetch. If a toy is involved, you can count DARLA in.
DARLA can be quite shy with anything new, people and experiences included, but warms up in due time. She is an independent girl that enjoys her foster siblings and the great outdoors. DARLA is great with other dogs, but she is still figuring out how to play with them; for now, she just enjoys licking them. When she isn’t playing with her foster siblings or toys, you can probably find her snoozing on the couch where she would be happy if you’d join her.
DARLA is working on house training and with frequent outings does just fine. She may like food more than toys, so should be very easy to train. If you can’t find DARLA, she will be sitting at your feet within seconds of hearing the shake of a treat bag! She walks well on a leash and sleeps soundly in her crate overnight and anytime she’s left unattended. After settling in, she also travels well in her crate.
DARLA needs a confident owner and maybe another dog or two to show her the ways. She is leery around young children, so may do best in a home without. She has been exposed to many animals, big and small, and tends to shy away from them all. With slow introductions, more socialization, and more exposure to new experiences, DARLA will surely blossom.
