Say hello to MINDY. Mindy is a 4-year-old, 45 pound, black and white rough-coated border collie who is ready for a forever home that she can call her own.
Mindy is kind-natured and very receptive to people and other dogs. She likes to relax with her family and enjoys getting a moderate amount of exercise. A brisk walk, a good hike, time chasing a ball, and playing in the water all make Mindy happy. She enjoys going on adventures in the car and rides nicely either in a crate or loose on the seat. Mindy LOVES squeaky toys. She also likes to chase things, making cats an uncertainty. However, Mindy does NOT display natural herding tendencies.
MINDY is receptive to common commands and is trained in basic pet manners. She is both treat and toy-motivated. Inside the house she behaves very well. Mindy knows how to sit, but like most youthful, energetic border collies, she can be distracted at times. For instance, on an off-leash walk or hike, she will sometimes sniff and ignore direction. She knows the command to stay, but she needs more practice and fine-tuning with it. Mindy does understand the word “NO” and responds appropriately. This sometimes silly Mindy makes herself comfortable flopping on the top of beds, chairs, a couch, and her humans. She kind of thinks she’s a 45lb lap dog!
MINDY is also very comfortable using a crate. She knows the “crate” command and loves getting a treat after scooting herself inside. She can often be found relaxing in her crate during the day. She spends all night in the crate without any whining or crying unless she needs to be let outside. MINDY is housebroken. She has no accidents inside the house when allowed outside semi-routinely. Mindy has no problem appropriately doing her business outside of the house.
MINDY is 100% loving and very persuasive with her deep eyes and sweet expressive face. If you’re looking for a beautiful, athletic, smart, and fun-loving border collie girl, use the link on Mindy’s bio and let us know you’re interested.
