Female, 4 years 50 lbs.
MISS TABITHA is a 4-yr-old, 50#, rough coat border collie. Her favorite thing is her people and after that a good chew or plush toy. She is an easy going girl who gets along well with dog of all sizes but she sometimes needs a few minutes to warm up to a new dog. In no time she is best pals with her new friends. She also gets along with cats and does not chase the cat in her foster home. She is fine with kids and greets all the people she meets with a wag and a smile.
TABITHA knows basic commands and will come when called. She is very food and praise motivated and will be easy to train. She likes to run and play with her foster pack. She will flip plush toys around in the air and she will chase a ball. She is also content to just hang out with her foster mom. She sometimes likes to go lay under the bed or behind the couch.
She is a medium energy girl who will sometimes have bursts of activity and run zoomies. Her foster does not see her as a good candidate for dog sports. Her gentle nature might not do well in that type of environment.
TABITHA was treated for heartworm disease starting in December of 2025. She has completed the treatment and is now ready for adoption. She will need to be on heartworm preventative every month for the rest of her life (as with all dogs).
TABITHA can sometimes be a sensitive girl. She doesn’t like sudden noises or raised voices. Generally she is a very happy and friendly girl, but she will need a home where she is treated gently. She would be fine with other dogs or as an only dog. She would likely be happy to be the one getting all the attention, and all the snacks. She is on the submissive side with other dogs. She mostly ignores the cats in her foster home and would do fine with dog savvy cats in the house.
TABITHA is fully potty trained and uses the dog door when she needs to go out. She sleeps quietly in her crate at night and is fine being crated for a couple hours when foster mom is away. She was a little nervous in the car at first, but now she jumps in and rides just fine. She is an adaptable girl if given some time and patience.
TABITHA is a very special girl with a heart of gold. Everyone who meets her loves her. She is truly a kind hearted dog. She would do best in a home where she gets regular exercise, where her people are around most of the time and will give her extra patience and a soft touch. She will repay you 10 fold in love and devotion.
