Female, 10 weeks. 10 lbs
URZA is a smart, active, happy, baby girl. She is approximately 10 weeks and 10 pounds of energy. Her coat is a very soft black and white (almost looks like some brown is coming in around her cheeks) and we believe she will have a short or possibly medium coat. She loves people, toys, other dogs, and even cats. She longs to play with any person, canine, or feline that is up for fun times. She can be a little overzealous in her play, but she’ll learn boundaries as she grows and develops.
URZA arrived in our home at 7 weeks and 7 pounds, and we are very pleased with her progress physically. We knew she was smart right off the bat. She is a natural sitter, and already learned to sit on command. When we let her out on our secure deck to potty she figured out the doggy door with no prompting. She was back inside less than five minutes later, and now uses the doggy door whenever she wants in. We control when she goes out, letting her out the people door. House training is a work in progress.
URZA is crate trained, has not had an accident in her crate since the first day, and sleeps quietly in her crate all night long. We will go to her crate, where she sits nicely, waits for us to open the door, then “OK” before she exits. If she is up before us she will start making noise around 7:30a to let us know it’s time. URZA is fed in her crate. She will bound in, sit, and wait for the food to be put down.
URZA loves toys, and also loves treats, all while being very praise motivated. She is going to be a blast to train, of that I have no doubt. We think she would really enjoy agility (she does a little hop over her pen exit instead of a walk over). Nose work also may be something she’d enjoy. She will need lots of mental and physical stimulation to be the best she can be.
If you are one who likes to include your pup in all your activities, pick some special activities for her, enjoys cuddle time, and is looking for the reward of bringing up a very smart and loving puppy, URZA may be just the girl for you.
URZA is started on her puppy vaccines, wormed, and microchipped. She is also on flea & tick and heartworm prevention. As a condition of puppy adoption, she will need to be altered when she reaches approximately 6 months (specific time to be determined by your vet). In addition to the adoption fee, puppy adoption requires a $75 spay/neuter deposit. Upon our receiving the spay/neuter certificate from you, the deposit is refunded. If you have an approved Northern California Border Collie Rescue & Adoptions Adoption Application and wish to inquire about URZA, please email us at Adoptions@norcalbcrescue.org. If you have an approved adoption application with Border Collie Rescue of Northern California let us know and we will request it be forwarded to us for consideration.
