Female, 2 Years, 35 lbs
Meet beautiful, VEGA, a tall and lean 35 lb tri-colored border collie mix girlie. Vega has a low maintenance smooth coat, and ears that are bound to hear everything. Estimated to be 2-years-old, VEGA has outgrown the puppy stage and is simply seeking someone of her own.
Even though VEGA is a very shy girl, she approaches house guests with curiosity and kindness. She knows her name and will hesitantly come when called, but she really prefers to seek attention on her own time. Once comfortable and willing, VEGA will rest her head on the arm rest and patiently wait to be petted. She enjoys being petted and politely asks for more attention by moving her head near your hand. VEGA is friendly with her foster siblings, but she does not show much of an interest in them. She would do just fine in a home as an only dog.
Vega is learning how to play with toys, and her favorite “toy” happens to be a stolen sock that she enjoys tossing around. VEGA also responds well to a gentle “no,” so regaining possession of said sock is a breeze. Although she seeks guidance and reassurance from her handler while on a leash, she loves to run around in the comforting confines of her backyard. VEGA does fixate and/or bark at chickens and cats from afar so likely has a bit of a herding instinct that is yet to show itself. She would probably do best in a home without these critters to bother.
VEGA is housetrained and crate trained. In fact, she loves her crate and spends much of the day in there by choice, seeing it as her cozy spot. She also sleeps soundly in her crate throughout the night, is crated while left alone, and travels well in her crate. Because of her shy demeanor, VEGA would do best in a quiet house where she will be given ample time to settle in and gain confidence in doing simple dog things. However, we have no doubt VEGA will soon ring true to her name and be a shining star wherever she goes!
VEGA is microchipped, heartworm negative and on preventative, and up-to-date on vaccinations.
