🐾 Hi, I’m Onyx! 🐾
Hi everyone! I’m Onyx, and I was born August 8, 2025, right here in my foster home. I got to stay with my mom until I was 13 weeks old, which means I learned all the important dog manners from her. I’m pretty proud of that.
My mom and two of my littermates have already found their forever homes, and they’re all thriving! Their new families tell my foster family that they have wonderful temperaments and are adjusting beautifully to their new lives. I think it runs in the family. 😉
I’m a 32-pound Border Collie mix, and I’m still growing! Everyone says I’m going to be a big girl someday. I’m fully vaccinated, crate trained, and house trained, so I’ve got a great foundation.
I absolutely love people and think snuggles are one of life’s greatest joys. I’ve got classic Border Collie energy, so I’m always ready for an adventure—walks, hikes, training games, and exploring new places. I’m also doing great learning what the leash means and how to walk with my person. And when we go places? I ride in the car quietly and calmly—no fuss from me!
I really like other dogs too! I just need a minute to make sure they’re friendly, and then I’m off to play! I would love to live with another canine friend to adventure through life with. My foster mom says I’m highly food and toy motivated, which is a polite way of saying I’ll do almost anything for a treat or a tug toy. I love ball, tug, snacks—basically anything fun involving my humans.
Everyone tells me I’m adorable (I don’t disagree). My coat is so soft and silky, and my right ear has a mind of its own—sometimes floppy, sometimes standing tall. It’s kind of my signature look.
When I was tiny, my foster family did something called Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS) with me and my siblings, and they helped us get used to everyday noises like fireworks, vacuums, thunderstorms, and garbage trucks—usually while eating, which was a great deal if you ask me! I’ve also gone on lots of outings:
Puppy stroller neighborhood cruises
Patio restaurant hangs
Retail store visits
Outdoor concerts
Lots of safe social time with dogs and humans
I’ve learned to take treats gently and can follow lured sits, downs, and spins. I’m confident with different textures and moving surfaces thanks to my ever-changing puppy pen. My foster mom works in dog behavior, so I’ve been thoughtfully raised with lots of intention and support. I’m also great in my crate and can sleep in a separate room from humans like a big girl.
If you’re looking for a sweet, smart, adventurous pup who loves to learn and loves you even more… I’d be so excited to meet you. 💕
Love,
Onyx 🖤🐾
