IN MEMORIAM – Best Goose Dog Ever ROSE

🐕 IN MEMORIAM  OUR ROSE – Smart, Lovely and the best Goose Dog Ever – 💔. 🐕

We lost our Rose yesterday 💔.  She was 14 1/2 years old and SO smart, SO lovely and the BEST goose dog ever! When Rose was working she was all business! Nothing distracted her. Other dogs we worked with her wanted to play chase (or chase the squirrels)  but Rose 🌹  ignored them and did her job! When the geese took to the ponds for escape Rose plowed into the water and swam after them and they all flew away! She was so focused and a favorite amongst our clients. Everyone loved watching her work because she was so quick, so thorough and poetry in motion while working. Rose was the backbone of our Goose control company for as long as we’ve been in business. She is the standard we measure other potential goose dogs by and she helped me train more than 30 dogs (all rescued dogs like she was) to do goose control. They are now working geese in several states across the country.

Rose was a one year old when we got her from the shelter in Merced. She had kennel cough and stayed with us for 2 weeks while she recovered. She was really sick! Like a kid with a very bad cold! However she was cheerful and sweet and Brett came to me to say…..let’s keep her! I really like her! So did I! BEST decision we ever made! A year later we started DogandWhistleGooseControl and she was the backbone of our business. She impressed everyone when we did a free demo…….she was that good. There will be other good dogs but never another Rose 🌹. Our hearts are broken today. She is missed but having had such crippling arthritis in her back she retired about 18 months ago and crossed the 🌈  🌉

Bridge yesterday,  now free of pain and running with those other dogs who went before her. We love you Rose, we miss you so much. ❤️  💙  💖

As with the dogs we’ve lost before her, Rose’s collar is clipped around the gate post to the big pasture.  There are 6 other collars there. Rose is in good company.
