THE BOYS OF SUMMER are another sweet group of puppies that are sure to steal your heart. Born in June 2023, the pups are 13 weeks old & ready to go to their forever homes. All of the puppies are smart and active, though not over the top. You should be prepared with games, training opportunities, and / or dog sports for these dearies. All love toys. They eat their meals in their crates & have ridden in a large crate together for the ride to their foster home & to the vet without getting carsick.
AVALON (Male) was the smallest of the pups but is now catching up to his siblings, weighing in at 18 pounds. He has a soft short coat which is mostly black with some brownish-red highlighting and ticking around his nose and on his chest. Avalon (Av, Avy), enjoys snuggling, LOVES his lap time, gets along well with all his doggy friends, and seems to be ok with cats.
AVY is a little shy meeting new people and new dogs (he was just split from his siblings a few days ago), but is starting to bloom into a well-rounded young boy. When we’d all go outside, he had to be coaxed to follow the other dogs, and he would stay within a couple feet of his foster dad the whole time. He has quickly learned that it’s a good thing to follow his foster siblings out and around the yard. He learned how to use the doggy door very quickly, and always goes outside to do his business. He will still have the occasional accident in the house, especially when getting excited, but even that is improving as he learns the routine.
AVALON loves to talk, particularly when left alone. During down time, either in his crate or on our secure deck with doggy door which leads to a small pen, he is quiet as long as at least one other dog is accompanying him. He would definitely benefit from a laid back dog friend in the house to learn from and continue his socialization skills. Another dog (or human) in the area keeps him settled as well. He sleeps quietly in his crate all night, surrounded by his dog friends. When let outside after a long night, he goes potty, then follows the other dogs back to the door because they all know it is feeding time.
AVALON’s nose is always to the ground, sniffing EVERYTHING! This indicates he might be a candidate for scent work (nose work). He’ll need some special activity to exercise mind and body.
If you have a free lap, love puppy kisses, and would like to open your home to AVALON, we’d love to hear from you.
