ADOPTED – BAILEY
Female, 1 1/2 years, 30 lbs
Female, 1 1/2 years, 30 lbs
BAILEY is a dainty red and white smooth coat Border collie mix weighing in at just over 30lbs and estimated to be 1.5 years old. She catches your eye with ears that stand straight up, a tail that curls over her back, and 1.5 blue eyes!
BAILEY is an incredibly intelligent girl and truly wants to please. She came to her fosters’ home with excellent manners. She is house trained, doesn’t jump up on people, and knows basic commands including sit, down, and come. Her recall especially is quite impressive. BAILEY is also crate-trained and spends the nights and her time alone in a wire kennel. She could benefit from some leash training as she does tend to pull.
BAILEY loves any and all toys. She will fetch anything that can be thrown and loves tug. Her meals are a game, and she loves working for her food, whether that be by listening to commands and being rewarded with her kibble or playing with a puzzle toy that holds her kibble. If it’s a game, BAILEY is in!
BAILEY has been exposed to chickens, goats, cows, and horses. She has not shown a strong herding instinct yet and although she does enjoy barking and running the fence line, she is easily called off by simply saying her name.
BAILEY will make a fantastic, loyal dog for an active someone/family. She is a very energetic dog and has true Border collie tendencies, and therefore needs somebody familiar with the breed. Once BAILEY has her person, her eyes don’t leave them, and she is up and ready to go before the thought crosses their mind. She has a need for speed and could easily excel in active dog sports of one’s choosing. BAILEY will benefit from some fine tuning and proper socialization. She is fostered with two dogs, but shows far more interest in her human friends. BAILEY may do best in a single dog home.
If you are looking for an active gal that is very people-centric Bailey could be the girl for you.
