ADOPTED COSMO

Male, 3 years, 36 lbs
COSMO is a gorgeous—inside & out—3-year-old boy, who is also on the smaller side for a BC male (36#). His red & white coat is soft, & he loves to be stroked & petted, sometimes emitting a soft, keening howl of pleasure. Even though Cosmo’s coat is long, it’s tangle-free & easy to care for. While Cosmo is not a barker per se, he does occasionally “talk” or even “sing” a bit—when you talk or sing with him, but especially when his dear friend border collie Molly gets going. If you ask him to stop, he does so immediately.
COSMO is one of the kindest, most biddable dogs his foster mom has fostered. He radiates happiness & joy, & enjoys playing with toys on his own, playing with his foster mom, or playing with his pal Molly. (In a perfect world, he & Molly would be adopted together; they are true besties!) Sometimes Cosmo even pounces on his toys like a fox. He has a medium energy level for a border collie. He loves to go for walks, to play, & to learn new things like tricks. He is both treat-&-toy-motivated, so while he is pretty darn perfect as is, he will enjoy any further training you’d like to do with him & might enjoy dog sports like canine nose/scent work, rally obedience, or possibly agility (if you don’t want a super-drive, rocket fast agility partner.) He will benefit from additional training with loose-leash walking; he does seem to know to stop at corners & wait to go on.
COSMO has lovely house manners. He is housebroken & crate-trained. He rides easily in the car (in a crate) for both long & short distances; he loves to go places with his foster mom & meeting new people & other dogs. While Cosmo gets along with other dogs, he is intimidated by groups of dogs, so he is not a good candidate for dog park gatherings. He has not been exposed to young children since he has been in rescue. He has shown some fixed interest in the resident cat & doesn’t like it when the overly friendly cat rubs against him.
COSMO would be happiest with someone he can devote himself to & who will enjoy doing things with him. While he is not a clingy dog, he is an utterly companionable one. He is a very special boy: smart, beautiful, funny, & kind.
