Male, 12 – 18 months, 42 lbs
LOGAN is a black and white rough coat Border Collie weighing 42 pounds and standing about 24 inches at the shoulder. He is believed to be over one year old. Logan is well-balanced with brown inquisitive and curious eyes. He has a true black and white coat. Logan is very curious. He loves to explore the yard on his own, however mostly stays within eyesight to his humans when outside. Logan is bouncy and has a playful attitude.
LOGAN desires a family who will spend time with him and train him to his true potential. He learned very quickly to walk on leash, and his off-leash recall is 99% solid even with distractions. On recall, Logan will run to you and sit in front of you quietly. In training, he is learning to Sit, Down, and Stay on command with positive reinforcement. His training sessions are short and several times a day with positive reinforcement and food treat reward. Currently, Logan is not toy motivated. His mind is very open to new things. Logan will be a wonderful jogging or hiking partner. He is very comfortable off leash and stays close to you, sometime too close as he wants to be everyone’s friend.
LOGAN does extremely well in his crate. He has not had any accidents in the house or in his crate. Logan sleeps soundly and quietly in his crate through the night. When outside in the yard, Logan will relieve himself on command with positive reinforcement and food treat reward. In Foster care, Logan has not been left to run free unsupervised in the house however, he will exit his crate off leash and go outside. When he comes into the house, Logan will come in off leash and enters his crate. He is content in his crate for down time, to eat, and to sleep. Logan travels very well in a crate when riding in the car.
LOGAN is playful with his foster brother and has offered absolutely no aggression. Logan can be placed with a second dog in the house or in a single dog home. At this time in his training, Logan is not left alone or unattended in the yard. If left alone on his own, he may develop vices that later would be difficult to correct. Logan has shown very little interest in other dogs when on leash walks. He has shown some interest in squirrels and has not been exposed to cats. Logan is very gentle with small children. He has not been exposed to babies or toddlers.
LOGAN is looking for an active Forever Family who will include him in ALL their activities, and who will support and train him to become the very best dog he can be.
