ADOPTED – MUSTARD
Male, 3 + Months, 16 lbs pounds
Male, 3 + Months, 16 lbs pounds
MUSTARD is a black and white smooth coat border collie mix that weighs in at about 15 pounds. One of four brothers (two adopted), he is methodical in his approach. He wants to get the lay of the land before jumping in, but once he is confident you are good folk, he is all in. MUSTARD then wants all the attention. His happy place may just be out with his people playing and goofing around. Smart and observant, he is beginning to understand the commands “sit” and “crate.” He does well with his siblings and the adult dogs in the house. He mostly ignores our cats. He sometimes takes note of their presence but felines should not present a problem.
MUSTARD (very similar to brother BUN, also available) enjoys romping around, playing tug, and chewing on toys. His house and crate training are progressing well. He settles nicely in his crate for meals and down time, but then that puppy exuberance takes over and all bets are off. Walk by and he perks up, sitting and watching to see if it’s time to eat or go out. Get the food bowls out and he KNOWS what time it is. Open the back door, open the crate doors, and out he heads for the great outdoors. He love treats. When the treat jar is shaken, MUSTARD responds enthusiastically to what is coming next. He also enjoys praise, both of which should make training a blast.
MUSTARD would benefit from a dog mentor in the home to show them the way and help build his confidence, but with proper attention he will be fine in as an only dog. MUSTARD is looking for activities like nosework, agility, or Treibball that stimulate the mind and exercise the body. The more activities the better, and the stronger the bond that will be built. If you are looking for a fun-loving, adorable, young boy to include in all your family activities, you have come to the right place.
MUSTARD is started on his puppy vaccines, wormed, and microchipped. As a condition of puppy adoption, he will need to be altered when he reaches approximately 6 months (specific time to be determined by your vet). In addition to the adoption fee, puppy adoption requires a $75 spay/neuter deposit. Upon our receiving the spay/neuter certificate from you, the deposit is refunded.
